There are many important considerations in choosing the correct foam for a given application: softness, stiffness, chemical properties, type (closed cell vs. open cell, thick vs. thin), seating requirements, vibration reduction, sound dampening, and cushioning. Fabrico engineers have extensive knowledge of these properties and of the vast number of material suppliers in the market. Fabrico is fully equipped to handle the variety of foams available. For instance, a state-of-the-art water-jet cutter provides clean, straight edges and protects the materials from mechanical influences.
Most applications require additional processing of foams, such as cutting and lamination with adhesives to other materials. Fabrico laminates foams to adhesives on a wide web laminator and performs in-line die cutting with our CNC press.
Foams used by Fabrico include:
-
Chomerics: EMI and thermal management
-
E-A-R Specialty Composites: acoustical, structural, vibration dampening
-
Foamex: flexible polyurethane
-
Hickory Springs: flexible polyurethane
-
Innofoam: polyethylene
-
Qycell: cross-linked polyethylene, irrigated cross-linked polyethylene, microcellular bun
-
Saint-Gobain: PVC foam gasketing, micro-cellular urethane gasketing
